Is Obama Listening To The Wrong People or Not Listening At All?
Part of Obama's appeal was his intelligence. I may have thought him wrong on the issues, but still intelligent. I am starting to question that.
Rasmussen's latest daily poll shows Obama now at 43% approval, with 56% disapproving, the lowest figures of his presidency.
It took Pres. George Bush almost six years to get to this level of job approval. Pres. Obama's has managed it in 14 months.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why. He insists on pushing and pushing an upopular healthcare bill. Not too long ago he said he would focus on creating jobs. But then he went right back to the health care boondoggle.
Why? Because the White House has convinced themselves that passing this bill will be win for them. They have spent a year of political capital on this, and as a White House source recently said, "This is the last helicopter out of Saigon." They imagine that, like most bills, once it's passed all bad blood will blow over, and people will shrug their shoulders and move on.
But this isn't like most bills. This isn't like most times. Our economy is in trouble, and unemployment has skyrocketed. We are literally printing money to pay for things. The last thing this economy needs is a big new entitlement program. We simply cannot afford it. The tea party movement is not going to let anyone forget what they are doing right now. Obama is not thinking straight.
If Obama had been governing as he promised, he would have gotten leaders from both parties from the start, and worked out a health care compromise where the bill contained only those things in which both sides agreed upon. Sure, it wouldn't have been exactly what the left or right wanted, but he would have had the bi-partisan bill he claimed to have wanted, and he could have easily passed it. Instead he let people like Pelosi create a bill so radical that even members of her own party refused to vote for it. Obama let special interests and special deals be a part of the process, when he promised they wouldn't be.
It's a shame we didn't get the change we were promised.
And now, with jobs being what should be priority one, he is still campaigning on this health care bill. Either he isn't as smart as we thought, or he is listening to the wrong people.
HI, Kat. I've never understood why people link the ability to read outloud with intelligence. Obama is no intellect, he's an intellectual fraud. He is not intelligent. His inability to remember what he has said in the past regarding policies and promises is proof of that. I remember my political positions when I was in high school 35 years ago. I remember how and when they evolved. Obama is a game player, he's never been smart, he's never been intelligent. He's a poser who doesn't mind being used. This man doesn't have a moral bone in his body. Intelligence demands a moral compass. Intelligence with out morality is not intelligence, it's called evil.

He could never have done this bi-partisanish. That would never have given him a single payer out come. That is what he wanted from the beginning. Republicans would never have allowed that to happen if they were given the option of influence. So here we are, being all nuclear. I hate to see it happen but its still possible he may get what he wants.

Doug: You are so right on. BHO is a total fraud, puppet, and the Muslims have him by the ballz. He does not care that he is being radical, and has no intention of being politically popular or bi-partisan. He intends to bankrupt the US and create total crisis so he can somehow rise from the heap and "be the savior". What a loser. Keep the faith everyone. Stand up straight and strong. Intelligent? Yes, but it's the feral, immoral, self-serving, narcissistic, twisted intelligence of the con man. It is intellect harnessed to the purpose of amassing as much power as possible, and not for the good of public, but for the good of a self-selected group of corrupt con men, race hustlers, union thugs, political hacks and various other types of criminal and social degenerates.
To this point, Obama has been able to get away with it because he has been useful to the same impulse in others of his kind, including the press, who may be the most immoral of them all. They have covered for him, clouded his background, obscured his spectacular failures and advanced his career. He's a man who has risen to exalted positions on the sole strength of having risen to the position prior to the position he seeks.
But Obama and his pals are beginning to get into trouble because their narcissism has caused them to forget the first commandment of con men: Never stick around too long; fleece the marks, take the money and run. When a con man sticks around too long, even the dullest mark will eventually come to understand that he's been conned and who conned him. True, some marks--for example, the press, in this instance--will never report or admit what happened so as not to look foolish, but cons on the scale perpetrated by Obama cannot be covered up, and so we begin to see the results of violation of the first commandment.
The problem is, however, that cons can't be discovered until after they're successful, until after the damage is done. And in any case, the damage can never be entirely undone. Obama will have the last laugh after all.
